Pétanque: game of bowls in the Jardin aux Etoiles
A pétanque court has been set up in the Jardin aux Etoiles, so as to allow our guests to enjoy moments of conviviality around a glass of wine they will have bought at Atacadao or simply by tasting the "champagne of Ouled Alioua ", made with ice water from our well supplemented with the juice of several lemons from our garden .
Is pétanque a sport or a simple leisure activity? Originally a typically Provençal leisure, the game of boules is in any case recognized as a competitive sport. It is regulated by the International Federation of Petanque and Provençal Game. It is therefore (also) serious.
Reminiscent of the French Protectorate, pétanque clubs have survived in the Agadir region. There is for example one in Ouled Teima. Their champions are quite proud of their laurels!
The grounds of the Jardin aux Etoiles were installed to the east of the riad, between it and the Chemin du Levant which borders it. It is surrounded by very diverse vegetation: cypress, fig trees, but also peach, papaya, orange, lemon, lavender.
Within everyone's reach, pétanque is practiced at all ages. Balls are available in the form of a briefcase that we will request from our steward . We have looked for these leisure balls in many stores in Agadir. None sells ... It was therefore necessary to transport this Obut branded box from Europe. We also provide a second game adapted to the size of the children. The rules of the game are explained here .
Enough to have fun with friends or family, alternating with the joys of the swimming pool !
